I just seen an ad on tv for pounds to pockets loans, are this company really what they crack themselves up to be? they make it sound so easy? one thing i noticed with the TV ad is they never mentioned the APR, if they did i didn't notice it. Has any one any experience with this company? I Have done a bit of research on this company 'Pounds to pocket'.

Pounds to pocket is offering loans with a representative APR of approx 278%. That's horrendously high.

You might assume that Pounds to Pocket is just another payday loan company like Wonga or quickquid, but actually it's a bit different.

Firstly, Pounds to Pocket can be significantly cheaper than some payday loan companies. Secondly, Pounds to Pocket is willing to lend for up to a year where payday loans are normally for up to a month.

What's more, borrowing from Pounds to Pocket has some other plus points. You can apply for the loan online and get a yes/no answer within ten minutes. You can repay the loan early and not be hit by any penalties. And most importantly, Pounds to Pocket is willing to lend to people who don't have a good credit rating.

Now that we've discussed the plus points, let's take a look at why we think you should avoid this loan if at all possible

Take a look at this table for monthly payments over 12 months (accurate at time of post):

Amount borrowedMonthly repaymentTotal repayableAPR
£300£46.33£556.07277.28%
£500£78.07£936.89277.02%
£700£109.30£1,311.59277.01%
£1,000£155.72£1,868.66277.06

Pounds to Pocket is the trading name of CashEuroNetUK of which also trades under the name of the well known 'Quickquick'.

they do it was 140% apr it is what it is! its cetainly better if your stuck with a payday loan you can lend the money you need to pay it off and pay back in 12 smaller installments... however i dont recomend this to anyone if you could manage to pay it alll of and go without for a while then thats a better option. with any loan you take all your doing is buying yourself debt. and you work hard for that. and always check your apr. wage day advance, quick quid and cash genuie offer with a payday loan help of freezing your interest and paying it back in 3 months on a monthly basis no other company offers that.but beware they only offer it once every 12 months.

The trouble is in this financial climate is the fact that people are not aware what is on offer. If you are thinking of taking out a loan for 12 months then it would be much better to use a credit union as they are only allowed to charge approx 2% a month in interest payments. Credit unions are becoming very popular fast in the UK, just search for your local credit union online and do yourself a favour don't pay silly interest over 12 months. I'm very surprised how these companies like pounds to pocket even manage to stay in business, but it's probably due to people not aware of what a credit union can actually offer.

Pounds to pocket are a very good 12 month loan company. I took out a loan with them in July 2012, the application form was straight forward, I got accepted and my credit rating isn't the best, the money was transferred within 48 hours, so far so good! happy customer! Big smile

Tony.

I see pounds to pocket have released a new TV advert, there are UFO's and aliens in it? very weird advert for a 12 month loan company. I wonder if the advertising authorities will accuse pounds to pocket of targeting aliens that watch daytime TV? LOL
